dm free (alias dominique m. frey) began his careere in 1995 as dj. his first records were not in any particular direction, it was a combination of trance, ambient, breakbeats, house through to uk hardcore. it soon became apparent that his appreciation of house music was getting the better of him and that in future he would only play house music....only house music??? no, dm free didn't want to be so narrowminded and only play one style.

he was getting a good reputation and at the end of 1997 he was taking part at big events like 'futurescope 18,evolution, goliath vs evolution, cubik 99, and getting more and more club gigs like rohstofflager (ministry of sound tour) kaufleuten, q - club, zoo club, tonys the club (be), halle 36, paradise, soul cafe, lwb ect...

between 1998 - 2000 dm free and his friend stefan ran the radioshow 'freegroove' on channel k, a program for house and uk garage. at the same time they started a new party label ' freegroove' which was mainly responsable for uk - garage partys. end of 2002 the boys decided to give the last 'freegroove 'party because they wanted to consider other horizons. during this period the people could also enjoy the dm 'groovin' free house sets at the legendary 'the clan' partys.

in the meantime, dm free and his music have developed, and you still can't pigeon hole him, you will still find a mixture of breakbeats, electro, house and progressive tunes in his case.....maybe its exactly that which makes his sets so refreshing and exciting.

in 2003 he was a founder member together with dave snow and kim powers of the project 'snow,free & powers'.... you can listen to some of the songs under music.

together with daivd steel and kim powers he launched a new project in 2006 called electro soul feat. kim powers.
